Downspout Difficulties in Comfrey, MN
Challenge
This home in Comfrey was getting a full installation of Gutter Shutter. Across the 140 feet of gutter and 4 downspouts, there were two decks, landscaping, and bricks in the way which required meticulous planning to get around. Two downspout locations had a brick design going up the wall, not allowing our usual straight drop of a downspout. We needed to make a sleek design that would still make an effective drain from the long pieces of gutter.
Solution
Our installers utilized ledge jumper elbows, which have a shallower angle than regular downspout elbows. This shallow angle allows us to shift downspout just a few inches over the bricks while staying very close to the house. Trevor and Josh, the crew on-site, use their expert installation skills to ensure precise placement that takes advantage of the shallow angles. When poorly installed, ledge jumpers can have a bulging appearance or, at worst, be an ineffective drain.
Luckily for this homeowner, he chose Gutter Shutter and our installers connected the ledge jumpers perfectly, creating a durable and well-designed downspout.
